Film Production Log Day 4

  

In Day 4 of producing 'Falling For You' we decided to reshoot some of the scenes we didn't necessarily like within the first shootings of the film. For example, Lara, Maleeka and I weren't too keen on the scene with dialogue where Valeriana is speaking to Lily about how she would prefer not to go to the party and instead stay home and work on her assignments for university. To improve this scene (scene 3) we recorded them again and used a different setting with a 'diva mirror' and bettered the sound by getting ourselves to raise our voices so the dialogue is much clearer. We also used different camera angles to encourage more movement within the sequence. We added on an 'introduction' scene to the conversation between the two best-friends in the film to help suggest to the audience that an altercation will happen with them rather than cutting straight to their conversation. 

We also chose to reshoot scene 4 as it didn't make much sense because as scene 3 just went straight to Valeriana and Lily at the elevator so we added another scene to film them walking towards the elevator. More clips were added onto scene 4 as well such as the girls getting into the car on their way to the party. 

Within the reshooting session for scene 5, we included new shots to enhance the narrative a bit more by adding close up shots of texts going between Valeriana and Lily while Lily is distracted by company from her phone and Valeriana is on her own. This helped to make it more clear to our audience that Valeriana wasn't enjoying the party at all and wanted to leave unlike the first time we shot the scene where she was just shown to be sitting at the party looking around.
